Editing one.

We have started editing now. At first the plan was to get all the filming done before editing started as we thought we would then now fully what we were doing. But due to my group not being able to film in the near future due to various excuses. Sam, Becca and I started editing as John was not in and due to him often taking days off school as he performs music professionally we thought we should just start without him. I had forgotten how good Sam was at editing and so naturally he took control of the keys. Sam and I have become the main two now on the editing forming a good editing relationship. I normally find the shots i think we should use and for how long and then he puts them into the actual time line, so they go on the beat. Although Becca started with us and helped at first she then went and carried on blogging as she felt that is where her time would be spent most. Sam and I have put together the starting 40 seconds; (mainly of the cafe and are two actors walking together) of are music video now and although we have only just started it is good to finally having something on the final cut express time line.

First day of filming

first day of filming is complete and i am very happy with the results. We have already gone away from the story board however i think these shots might really add to the quality of the video. We have filmed everything i believe we will need for the foresty shots and the cafe shot.  We were only planning to make a bit of the film in foresty areas but with the amount of shots we have i think we could use a few more of them in the real music video.

Model

We now have Ashlee Bloom helping us film due to other people pulling out. I am very happy that we have been able to use Ashlee as she is very keen on music and is taking drama and performing arts as an A level meaning that she should be good at the narrative parts of the music video. I got in touch with Ashlee Bloom through Facebook and she said she was more than happy to help when she was available. The only problem having Ashlee is due to the fact she is doing her own A levels now wiht coursework it means we will have to work around her rather than being able to do stuff whenever we wanted. However one the whole very good news :)

A quick look at some postmodern music videos.

Most media productions have some sort of postmodernism in them here are a few:

Keri Hilson- Pretty Girl Rock

In this video Keri Hilson plays a homage to her favourite artist that she sees as role models for her such including Josephine BakerDorothy Dandridge, the Andrews SistersDiana Ross,Donna SummerJanet Jackson, and the girl band TLC

Eminem- Just lose it

This song is also post modern as there is parodies of Beavis/Cornholio, MC Hammer, Madonna and others however the major parody in the song, which caused so much controversy is the one of Michael Jackson, who was being accused of child molestation at the time.

Rihanna- S and M

This video is post modern as it is almost suggesting that music videos are now overly sexual. There is therefore Rihanna's opinion in the video and it is a parody to other other music video such as Gwen Stefani's "Hollaback Girl"and most pop women singers.

Artic Monkeys- Leave before the light come on

In this video at 2:56 the video changes to two still image which therefore takes the audience out of the video and makes them realise that this is a video not real life. This is a post modern convention making the audience conscious that they are not watching real life.

Good Riddance (Time Of Your Life)

The edit in this video are very clear and obvious it is meant for the audience to notice. This is a sign on post modernism.
